Interview with Virginia…

Jinjee: What made you decide to try a raw vegan diet?

Virginia: I was interesting in going raw first and foremost to lose weight. I was already vegan, but struggled with eating high calorie, high fat foods. And, of course, there is plenty of processed vegan foods out there and I wanted to get away from depending on them.

Second I’ve been reading your website and your blogs for at least ten years. Watching your kids grow up so healthy, seeing your own before and after pics, and of course Storm and his amazing body all pushed me to say if they can do it, so can I!”

Jinjee: How are you doing on the Programs?

Virginia: As you know, I’m disabled, and that comes with its own set of problems. It’s hard to workout, and when I do my back always rewarded me with two or three days in bed recovering. But exercising on this diet has been completed different. Yes, sometimes I wake up sore, but I can take a few pain pills and be on my way. Better yet, once I become used to that exercise (the weights for instance) I don’t wake up sore at all! I never thought diet would be the answer to my exercise problems!

I’ve recently gotten a hand cycle and I can’t be stopped now! I’m experimenting with my WII, which I can play tennis, baseball, boxing and some balance exercises (sitting down). I did that last night and though I was sore this morning, now I know I’ll be fine after I’ve done it a few times. I’m going out riding in just a bit, something I never could have done before.
