When I remember to be grateful as an actual practice, it is absolutely astounding how much brighter the world gets. It really is like magic!
Beginning the practice is as easy as noticing one thing to be grateful for, or appreciating one joyful moment. Or it can be a list that you make as a prayer or on paper or in your head every morning, every day, every evening, or every hour. One thing, three things, ten things. Whatever you choose your practice to be.
What is helpful about having a practice is that it helps you to make the effort to be grateful even when you have gotten yourself in to a funk. And then those bad moods pass more quickly.
There’s the magic; that once you begin, you start to see more and more things to be grateful for. You start to notice all the good. You start to feel good. You start to appreciate feeling good. And up and up it escalates until you really vibrate at a higher frequency. You really have joy in your life!
It isn’t really a lot of work. It doesn’t take a lot of time. And it doesn’t cost any money! But the rewards are the greatest!
