Are you in the habit of buying yourself little treats at every stop along the way? Do you wonder why you’re doing this? Do you wish you could stop? Here’s an angle you may not have considered…
You’ve been un-cooking, you’ve been cleaning, you’ve been taking care of the kids, working, running errands, shopping for groceries, paying bills, and doing all the things you should – – shouldering your grown-up responsibilities.
The responsibilities of adult life are many! On the flip-side the benefit is that with adult life (with responsibility) comes power and freedom. However if you aren’t using your freedoms in a healthy way, you might resort to unhealthy habits to try to balance out the stresses of the daily grind.
Further, and for instance, what are you going to do to reward yourself when the “normal” rewards are not on your diet / lifestyle plan?
If you aren’t rewarding yourself with healthy pleasures, you may default to the cheap and easy – pick up a little junk food “reward’ on your journey. Here’s some inspiration to stop and take some serious “me-time” to build your lifestyle of healthy habits!
Some ideas for raw vegans who have earned some grown-up “me-time”…..
Listen to:Â Grown-Up Freedoms on JINJ mp3 RawRadio!
Enjoy a little music at the end — from my singing-journal from years back – it just happened to come up because it is also titled “grownup” — so it fits with the theme!
You should be able to stream it on this browser and continue surfing on other tabs or doing your work with this playing in the background. You should also be able to download the mp3 file by right-clicking on the link (or control-click the link) and choose “save file as…”. Once you have it downloaded you can listen to it on your mp3 apps and devices or burn to a CD and listen in the car. This talk is about 8 minutes long.
If you can’t hear the mp3 file, let me know and maybe I can find time to transcribe it in future. I’ve been doing more recording in the car since I seem to be driving a lot more lately. Have been thinking of posting regular JINJ mp3 Radio blogs.
