  1. VicTORIa says:

Tried the celery chowder. When I opened my coconut, the meat was hard. How do you tell a young ‘un? Also, the texture was a bit gritty. Was that from the powdered brazil nuts or the coconut or not blending it long enough in my vitamix (nearly two minutes so it would be warm)? But the flavor was wonderful and the onion gave it the crunch and flavor snap to make it really rawk!

    Thank you,
    Victoria

  2. Do you soak the brazil nuts before blending into a powder?

  3. Victoria: The white coconuts are the “young” ones. They say “young” on the wrapper and are sometimes called “Young Thai coconuts”. I made this tonight with the young coconuts and it was great. Not gritty at all!
